This is a tongue-in-cheek scenario of the perils of breeding dogs. Sadly most of what is in the script I have heard (albeit I have taken it to the extreme). I always thought dog breeders made a fortune off of puppies. That was before I bought a dog!
The problem is many people say the right things. They tell people what they want to hear – both buyers and sellers.
I know people that call a breeder and say all the right things and then never do anything with the dog other than breed it, they don’t get health clearances done. They don’t show it in anything, conformation, rally, agility or herding but they know EVERYTHING. People call these people and THINK they are going to a responsible breeder but in fact they are mass producers with decent dogs.
On the flip side you have buyers who have absolutely no clue and want a great puppy for the cost of a Grande Latte Cappuccino. They want an eight week old puppy that is perfectly trained, with no vices. They troll Internet forums and when they contact a breeder they get mad when they start asking even simple questions. Is it a wonder why many breeders ask so many questions?
So sit back and enjoy – hopefully it will give you a chuckle or two.
