I took up photography as a hobby after helping my good friend Jaime Foutty at horse shows. I tend to enjoy candid pictures more than staged – I guess for me it is because it allows me to try and do something different or to present something in my perspective. Or maybe because something presented itself.
What I love is that despite what you think may be a good shot, sometimes those don’t turn out, many times it is the shot that you took as an after thought. But every once in a while you get THE SHOT and you know it the minute you click the button. Tha is what rocks.
I have taken a ton of photography classes and love to learn. I shoot with a Nikon D300 and various lenses and yes I love my Nikon!
Depth of Field is my favorite thing to play with. Depth of Field is when you blur objects that are not the subject. If done correctly it is incredible and I love playing with that and making pictures look different depending on how I shoot it.
When we go on vacation nothing makes me happier than taking my camera and getting lost in the surroundings. I literally could sit for hours and not get bored. My husband is just happy that cameras are digital now since I take a ton of pictures and it would cost a fortune!
